The museum displays nine naturalistic works from Mondrian's early period. These paintings and drawings from the period 1899-1908, originally from the Esser collection and on loan from the Mondriaanhuis, were acquired in 2022. Mondrian's earlier work is still figurative and artisanal, although signs of innovation can already be seen.
The following works have been acquired:

4. Farmhouse on the Gein flanked by tall trees, Oil on canvas, 1906-1907, 33.3 x 56.6 cm
5. Dredger on the Amstel near the Omval, Oil on cardboard, 1906-1907, 63.5 x 76 cm
6. Pollard willows by a ditch outside Amsterdam, Watercolour, 1905, 28.5 x 40 cm
7. The Lappenbrink, view of Nieuwstraat, Black and coloured crayon on paper, 1899, 45 x 61 cm
8. The Lappenbrink, view of Meddosestraat, Black and coloured crayon on paper, 1899, 59 x 43 cm
9. Chrysanthemum flower, Charcoal on paper, 1908, 27.5 x 50.5 cm
In addition, the museum has two art collections on loan. The first collection contains geometric-abstract art, obtained on long-term loan from the National Cultural Heritage Agency. It comprises a total of 114 objects. Well-known names such as Jan Schoonhoven, Cesar Domela Nieuwenhuis, Peter Struycken, Carel Visser, Ben Akkerman and Joost Baljeu belong to this collection.
The second collection contains constructive concrete art measuring 30 x 30 cm, obtained on long-term loan from internationally working artists. It comprises a total of 339 artworks. Artists such as Douglas Allsop, John Carter, Andre van Lier, Josef Neuhaus, Vera Molnar, Eric Saxon and Gilbert Decock belong to this collection.
